TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Terror Island is a live action scare maze experience which is intended to startle and frighten you.

This attraction is operated by Vectis Ventures Limited.   

Terror Island is a strictly 16+ event. Proof of age will be requested from anyone who is believed to under the age of 16-years-old. 16 & 17 year-olds must be accompanied by responsible adult over the age of 18.  

EVENT TERMS

 The following are not permitted inside any of the scare mazes:   

  • Food and drinks   
  • Drugs and Illegal substances   
  • Weapons, including imitation weapons   
  • Head masks, hoods, or any item which disguises the  face   
  • Cameras or audio recording equipment   
  • Bags  
  • Naked flames, including lighters and fireworks  
  • Puffer or quilted clothing   

While inside the scare mazes, you must not:  

  • Touch the live performers, sets or  properties   
  • Chew gum   
  • Run, ever   
  • Eat or drink   
  • Smoke, including  vaping   

We will refuse admission and not refund you if:  

  • You appear to be under the influence of drugs.   
  • Your behaviour is perceived as unreasonable, threatening or if we have any reason to believe you pose a threat to other guests or our live performers.   

 The following applies across all attractions at Terror Island  

  • The live performers may touch you, but you must not touch them.   
  • You must remain with your group at all times.   
  • You must walk forward at all times, with both hands on the shoulders or waist of the person in front of you, unless you are the leaders. You must not stop or move backwards unless instructed to do so by the scare actors.   
  • You are part of a group. Please do not spoil the experience for the rest of the group by misbehaving or breaking the rules in any way.   
  • Once you enter there are no midway escape exits until you reach the end, be sure you want to enter.   
  • If you lose anything inside the attraction, we will not be able to conduct a search for it until the following day. Anything brought into the attraction is at your own risk and we will not be held liable for any loss.   
  • You must wear sensible footwear and clothing inside the attraction. We will not be held liable for damage to footwear or clothing including scuffing or soiling.   
  • We will endeavour to ensure that all advertised features of the attraction are available. We may, however, without prior notice and without refund or compensation, cancel or suspend any feature of the attraction due to inclement weather, to ensure safety, security, or order if we consider that the circumstances so require.   
  • We may carry out filming and photography inside the park and attractions for the purpose of security, monitoring quality and marketing. These recordings may feature guest images or voices. By entering the attraction, you irrevocably waive all rights in these recordings and agree that we may use them in perpetuity and without limitation in any promotional, advertising or publicity material in any format whatsoever without payment, notification or credit to you. You further agree that all copyright within these recordings lies solely with Vectis Ventures Limited.   
  • Image and photography used in the promotion of this attraction are not contractual and exact sets and characters may differ from those shown.   
  • By buying a ticket to this attraction, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, and entry is at your own risk.  
  • We reserve the right to remove you from the attraction if you do not follow our terms and conditions of admission, without refund.   
  • We will not be held liable for any incident which occurs if you have failed to follow instructions given by our staff, live performers or security officers, or if you have failed to adhere to any of the terms and conditions of admission or failed to read the warnings published here.   

BLIND ALLEY (HOODED MAZE EXPERIENCE) TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • The following applies to this attraction:
    • The live performers will not touch you and you must not touch them.
    • You will be touched using various props.
    • You must remain with your group at all times.
    • You must walk slowly forwards at all times, following the guide rope with your right hand, unless you are the leader. You must not stop or move backwards unless instructed to do so by the scareactors.
    • You are part of a group, please do not spoil the experience for the rest of the group by misbehaving or breaking the rules in any way.
    • Once you enter there are no midway escape exits until you reach the end, be sure you want to enter.

TICKET TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • All event tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • The Terror Island site is CASHLESS. Please ensure you are able to make card or contactless payments.
  • At the point of purchase, the purchaser will choose a date they intend to visit. E-tickets can only be used on the specified date. An additional surcharge may be applied upon admission for any tickets being redeemed on an alternative date.
  • Tickets should be purchased in advance online and walk-ups will NOT be permitted once capacity limits have been reached, regardless of ticket type. We strongly advise that all guests wishing to experience Terror Island book their ticket specifically in advance online to guarantee entry.
  • Advanced tickets are only available to purchase online and can be purchased at any time ahead of visiting Terror Island. These tickets are valid for entry on the same day as they were purchased.
  • Terror Island tickets provide access to a specified, reduced area of Blackgang Chine only. Tickets do not include access to the full park, or provide entry to Blackgang Chine outside of Terror Island event dates & times.
  • Standard Blackgang Chine park tickets are not valid for redemption at Terror Island.
  • Terror Island is a strictly 18+ event. Proof of age will be requested from anyone who is believed to be under the age of 18-year-old.     
  • Blackgang Chine and Joint Park Frequent Visitor Pass holders qualify for a discounted ticket to Terror Island. A valid unique FVP code, held by an individual over the age of 16 will be required to book online and redeem the discount. Proof of age, identity and FVP card will be required upon entry to the event. If this proof cannot be presented, a surcharge will be applied.
  • The group saver discount is available on General Admission Tickets only and will be automatically applied at checkout.
  • Dogs are not permitted at this event.

ULTIMATE VICTIM SAVER TICKET TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • The Ultimate Victim Saver Ticket is available exclusively to off-Island residents. 
  • The organised travel times stated for this Saver Ticket are non-negotiable and by purchasing this ticket, guests accept these times and restrictions. No replacement travel times will be provided and Terror Island or Red Funnel cannot be held responsible for any missed travel times. (17:20 Red Jet from Southampton, 18:00 coach from M&S Bus Stop West Cowes, 22:30 coach from Terror Island, 23:45 Red Jet from West Cowes) 
  • All tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable. No refunds will be provided as a result of missed travel. 
  • No discount codes are valid for use on this ticket product. 
  • Standard ticket & entry terms apply. 

COACH TRANSFER TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Coach Transfer Tickets are non refundable and non-transferable. 
  • Coach Transfer Tickets are valid for coach travel from Cowes M&S, Newport Morrisons (opposite ATS Garage) to Blackgang Chine and back again, only at the designated times. These tickets are not valid for any additional travel, nor entry to Terror Island.
  • Pick-up from Cowes will be at 18:00, Newport will be at 18:20.
  • Terror Island cannot be held responsible for any late arrivals and refunds will not be issued for guests who miss their coach. The coach company has final decision on when it will leave Newport.
  • All guests must arrive at their pick-up points in good time.
  • Return pick-up from Terror Island will be at 22:30.
  • All guests must be at the Blackgang Chine bus stop in good time.
  • Standard event, entry & ticket T&Cs apply.

The Blood Shed  includes:

  • Narrow tunnels   
  • Total darkness  
  • Sudden loud noises  
  • Water spray and splash   
  • Uneven surfaces  
  • Steps up and down   
  • Strobing and flashing lights   
  • Latex  
  • Fog effects  
  • Theatrical scent  

The Summoning includes:  

  • Live performers  
  • Confined spaces   
  • Narrow tunnels   
  • Total darkness  
  • Sudden loud noises  
  • Air gusts  
  • Uneven surfaces  
  • Steps up and down   
  • Strobing and flashing lights   
  • Latex  
  • Fog effects  
  • Crawl spaces – you will be required to crawl on your hands and knees through tunnels.  
  • Theatrical scent  
  • Claustrophobia   

THE  EVENT  IS NOT SUITABLE FOR

  • Those with photosensitive epilepsy.  
  • Those who are pregnant.  
  • Those who are claustrophobic.   
  • Those who have a heart disorder.   
  • Those that have asthma.  
  • Those of a nervous disposition.   
  • Those who have any kind of medical condition which may be aggravated by the experience.  
  • Those who are reliant on any emergency or time sensitive medication.
